True listening and communication inspire peace. Our
Listening & Communications Programmes explore what it is to
be a masterful listener
and how one can be heard leading to extraordinary accomplishments.
Workshops, teleclasses and
on-on-one coaching integrate a means of powerful communication that
strengthens relationships and reduces the stress associated with
misunderstanding and miscommunication.
The curriculum takes participants through the process of identifying their listening style and becoming aware of what triggers an upset. Through exercises, group discussions and practical applications, they will develop and practice the skills that support successful communication. Participants complete a course (and coaching series) with a set of listening basics that can be applied to their daily practices immediately upon learning. Public courses are one or two days long and include assignments during breaks, lunch and overnight. Teleclasses/telecourses are held during the day or evening once a week for multiple weeks; homework is given. True listening and communication are a universal need. Families, couples, individuals and business leaders, teams and associates have all benefited substantially from participating in and completing a course. Listening is the one tool that can access unlimited potential to one’s success. Most people think listening and hearing are the same. Listening is a skill to be learned as few are born with this gift. There are a variety of programmes and courses to choose from to fit individual needs; all are based on the curriculum established by The Institute for Global Listening and Communication. ^Top |

COURSES
Two-day
workshop using
participatory discussions followed by small group exercises and lunch
and homework assignments. This gives
a variety of
applications leading
to clear communication and successful interaction. All
courses include handouts. This workshop is geared towards adults.
Example: Day 1 begins with introductions and the course specifics (agenda, logistics, etc.) Participants work together as a whole and break into small groups to experience all levels of Listening - not only of themselves but to the diverse members in the group who presented a variety of common challenges. The group meets for lunch to complete an assignment. Overnight homework is given, such as silence beginning at 10pm and written exercises. Day 2 begins with a review of the previous day, 'where are you now with your listening', 'what skills have you discovered', etc Exercises and tools development continue throughout the day so that all have used and experienced the “Nine Tools of Empowered Listening”. The course completes with full acknowledgment of each participant and a plan for going forward as an Inspired Listener.
One-day
teen version of the Empowered Listening
& Communication Course
with the only difference being the speed with which youth
“gets it”!
Two-day
parent's version of the Empowered Listening
& Communication Course tailored to support
parent-child
interaction.
For
those who don’t have
the time or inclination to travel to a public workshop, a teleclass
series of
introductory and coursework calls is facilitated, covering various
listening
topics
or a complete Empowered
Listening & Communication Course telecourse.
The
institution’s
communication requirements in areas such as politics, gossip, morale
and
management/staff synergy are addressed through tailored
versions of on-site courses
using
participatory discussions followed by small group exercises. This gives
a variety of
applications leading
to clear communication and successful interaction. All
courses include handouts, and lunch and
homework assignments, and are a version of the Empowered Listening
& Communication course.

| Coaching |
|
Coaching is a series of hour-long appointments, generally done over the telephone. The series is tailored to meet a particular need in the client's life or job - generally know as an intended result. One-on-one life, career and executive Coaching of guidance, support and accountability, explores and uncovers what is blocking one's creativity to attain visions and goals. This programme is also used as a path to discover what is it that is stopping the client from having everything in life - a partner/marriage, a new career or promotion, fitness - anything in any area. Coaching session schedules vary to support the individual or group. Consultations, courses and coaching have been facilitated since 2000 in Canada, the UK, Israel, the United States and Ireland; first Ireland coaching client, Dublin 2002; first Ireland public course, Limerick 2006. As

Fitzpatrick, is joined by masterful listeners who are fully
qualified/certified
trainers and coaches to facilitate courses and trainings, and to
support coaching
clients.

Generally, following a breif introduction and explanation, the Tools of Empowered Listening are explained through easy exercises that give the participants some basic skills that they can incorporate into their "listening" immediately.
