Dedicated to empowering and inspiring Masterful Listeners in working together to peace together our world; to creating 1000 peaceful listeners each year.

Company

Self & Space Consultancies provides personal and professional development through listening and communication courses, and coaching for individuals, businesses and vocational and special interest groups.

Consultations, courses and coaching have been facilitated since 2000 in Canada, the UK, Israel, the United States and Ireland; first Ireland coaching client, Dublin 2002; first Ireland public course, Limerick 2006. Self & Space Consultancies moved office permanently to Ireland in 2006 and works with both Irish and multinational companies at home and abroad.

As needed, founder and facilitator, Eileen M. Fitzpatrick, is joined by masterful listeners who are fully qualified/certified trainers and coaches to lead courses and trainings, and to support coaching clients.                                                         ^Top

WHAT WE DO

Courses are based on a range of empowerment principles, skills and tools specific to listening and communication.  

Each is presented as:

This is accomplished by:
  • Presenting curriculum and exercises that demonstrate the significance of communicating through listening and being heard.
  • Teaching participants to converse through an invitation to listen rather than react to ‘being told’.
  • Exploring the distinction between disempowering talk and skilful clarity in communication.
  • Offering ongoing practical applications that shift the participant’s listening to effective communication in life and in business.
  • Providing follow up programmes, such as post workshop teleclasses and individual or group coaching.
All courses and programmes offer a “how-to” for clear communication in resolving personal issues and challenging business situations. PROGRAMMES


True listening and communication inspire peace.

Our Listening & Communications Programmes explore what it is to be a masterful listener and how one can be heard leading to extraordinary accomplishments in professional and personal lives. Workshops, teleclasses and on-on-one coaching integrate a means of powerful communication that strengthens relationships and reduces the stress associated with misunderstanding and miscommunication.

The curriculum takes participants through the process of identifying their listening style and becoming aware of what triggers an upset. Through exercises, group discussions and practical applications they will develop and practice the skills that support successful communication. Participants complete a course or coaching series with a set of listening basics that can be applied to their daily practices immediately upon learning.

Public courses are one or two days long and include assignments during breaks, lunch and overnight.  Business and organization scheduling is based upon the time requirements of the department workload and the staff. Programmes can be run in half-day segments based on the specific communication needs established during a preliminary orientation. Teleclasses are held day or evening once a week for multiple weeks; homework is given. Coaching sessions vary to support the individual or group.

COURSES
  • AN ORGANIZATION BEING HEARD
The institution’s communication requirements in areas such as politics, gossip, morale and management/staff synergy are addressed through tailored versions of on-site courses using participatory discussions followed by small group exercises. This gives a variety of applications leading to clear communication and successful interaction. All courses include handouts, and lunch and homework assignments, and are a version of the Empowered Listening & Communication Course.
  • EMPOWERED LISTENING & COMMUNICATION COURSE
Two-day workshop using participatory discussions followed by small group exercises and lunch and homework assignments. This gives a variety of applications leading to clear communication and successful interaction.  All courses include handouts. This workshop is geared towards adults.
  • IF YOU WOULD JUST LISTEN!
One-day teen version of the Empowered Listening & Communication Course with the only difference being the speed with which youth “gets it”!
  • LISTEN HERE!
Two-day parent's version of the Empowered Listening & Communication Course tailored to support parent-child interaction.

  • LISTEN TO BE HEARD

COACHING ALLIANCE

One-on-one life, career and executive coaching of guidance, support and accountability, explores and uncovers what is blocking the creativity to attain visions and goals. This programme is also used as a path to discovering what is it that is blocking the participant's personal growth and career enhancement.

As a follow up, working with a coach knowledgeable and experienced in masterful listening will enhance what was learned in a course, turning the listening and communication tools and skills into individualized techniques.

All Coaching Alliance sessions are tailored - unconditional support, non-judgmental encouragement and a plan - to be about the participant and can included the employer's policies and goals as required.                                                         ^Top
